BACKFLIPPING PEOPLE OFF
I really should change that label. It's really more "sites" for Saturday
than just one site.

Over at Something Awful, the men (boys?)
of Photoshop Phriday had a good day yesterday,
giving us a second part of "Same Actor, Wrong Roll."
Stephen introduced me to a new 'blog called A Collection of Men. It's a simple idea, stylishly done. And the photo of the "Daddy's Boy" who puts it together is beautiful.
It was posted last week, but I didn't notice until last night that Stunning Sexy Guys offered up a wallpaper photo of my Man of the Month Phil Fusco (even if they did call him "Pat").
And We Love Guys reminded me this week why the world loves Marcel.
Finally, Just Beautiful Men introduced me to something called "parkour," something like the offspring of mating gymnastics and and some martial art. Some of these moves were impressive years ago when I saw. Donald O'Connor do them, but these guys make them far sexier. Have a look...

HORSE STABLE RELATIONSHIP
Question #30:Just what is a
"ponyboy"?

A guy who's like a pony: strong and healthy,
but too young to ride just yet. The stretched-'til-
he's-out-of-focus ponyboy above
from Controlling the Transmissions.
A cause de Garcons deserves a visit. On Wednesday, it reminded me of the existence of Christopher Leabu, still one of the most perfect faces I've ever seen. And that same day it showed me again just how pretty a boy Mitch Hewer is.
Earlier in April, the aptly named Just Beautiful Men introduced me to to Nicholas C. who has one of the most beautiful faces I've seen in a long time.
And at Le Gay Blog, I clicked on something to see the A&F commercial featuring college wrestling but right below it I saw a five-minute gay porn video that will probably never become the Scion commercial it was probably intended to be.
Finally, on Wednesday Are You There Blog? It's Me, Stephen showed me the funniest damned thing I've seen in a long time. The grown man in me is depressed that network news has sunk this low, but the guy in me laughed the whole time.

COMING IN FIRST LOSER
Failblog.org, providing a valuable public service by pointing out the errors of others in design, in advertising, in comic book publishing... in any field of life really.

GIRDLE OF APOLLO CREED
Fit Lads. Both a place to ogle hot photos, but also a good source of fitness information and training tips.

MAKING YOUR MARQUEE

Funny Signs is exactly that, a collection of funny signs. Some are obvious fakes and there's a lot of repetition, but it's still worth a visit.

GOAL CREASE IN YOUR PANTS
Muscle Jocks, a photo 'blog of fitness models and athletes both amateur and professional. Not much to read, but a great place to consistently see hot photographs.

Common Sense of Humor

Flesh Addicted is playing Caption This Pic again. Not many captions yet, but the picture is adorable.
On Wednesday, superunderwearperverts gave me both a photo of a dark-haired Chace Crawford I haven't seen AND a picture of my two favourite Finns, Lauri Kalima and Markus Poyhonen. I hope these guys travel the world and sleep with lots of women. Keeping their DNA in Finland is nothing but selfish.
And on Friday, Tales of the Sissy told a heartwarming story about saying goodbye to his neighbors and on Tuesday he showed us some great photos like this.
Moe's Tavern (Home of the Flaming Moe) provided me with this week's desktop art.
She may not know how to hyphenate, but this single line explains why I like Vera's Big Gay Blog: "18 year old Lucas plays Hannah's love interest in the upcoming, Hannah Montana: The Movie, but he's been in good movies too."
And Bill at Tottyland labeled this picture as a photograph of "Paul Walker and his acting coach." This guy is my kind of funny.
It was cool to have time to play online again.

Olympic Torch Song

I've seen only the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympiad, but I already have my first Olympic hero: Lin Hao who walked beside Yao Ming and the Chinese flag. The 9-year-old was buried in the wreckage during the earthquake in Sichuan province that killed 20 of his 30 classmates, but he dug himself free before going back to dig two other students out. When asked why he did it, he claimed that he was one of the class leaders so it was his responsibility.
I don't know what to make of the Chinese people in general, but this is one brave, dutiful boy.
I enjoyed watching all the teams parade by, but I was a bit creeped out by the show that preceded it. The rolling scroll/video screen was impressive, as was the sheer scale of the show, but I kept thinking how grotesque it was to spend so much money on this in a nation where so many people live in relative squalor. No wonder there's so much poverty, though, in a nation where the people get hungry an hour after they eat.
It was bittersweet for me to watch the Austrian team walk by though. My mother was not a big fan of any sport, but she watched the Olympics faithfully every two years to see her native Austria compete. And she'd always cry a bit when they marched by during the opening ceremony, and it struck me that this is the first Olympiad since her death.
So I teared up a bit on her behalf.

"What Happened" Stance

A good way to spend some of that extra time you have so much of.
And check the high scores: I'm usually there.
POLITICS
The big news story this week has been Scott (I refuse to call a grown man "Scotty" unless I'm sleeping with him.) McClelland's book about the behind-the-scenes view of the Bush White House. Liberals... oh, excuse me... Progressives are all screaming "I knew it! I knew it!" And the Bushmen are all yelling about how disloyal McClelland is for saying what he says.
It's interesting that most of the criticism focuses on McClelland himself without every saying that his accusations are false. One guy on NPR (Sorry, I'm lousy with names unless I take notes) called this Spin Control 101: Attack the messenger if you don't like the message.
It's been a very hot topic at the so-called FoxNews, and Eyes on Fox can tell you about at least O'Really's take on the story.
My local ABC affiliate this week talked about almost $9billion that went missing in Iraq. This is pretty good for Disney Corporate News. People who get their news online could have heard about this missing cash more than two years ago! And most of it was actual cash, shipped on shrink-wrapped pallets and carried away from Iraqi airports in duffle bags. A system bad for accountants, but good for money-launderers.
At Dispatches from the Culture Wars, you can read the story of military personnel in Iraq who are violating military regulations and attempting to convert Iraqi citizens to Christianity. I realize that some Christians feel an obligation to spread their religion, but the men and women in our armed forces are also honour bound to obey their regulations, and the distribution of propaganda and even copies of the Christian Bible in Arabic are not helping our people to earn either the trust or respect of the Iraqi people. Hell, they already have so many reasons to suspect our motives; why give them one more and violate the rules at the same time?
NEW DISCOVERIES
Thanks to Le Gay Blog, I've discovered Garrett Mullen, a model with the B1 Model Management. And now part of me wants to make little statues of him and Vince Azzopardi and use them as really sexy salt and pepper shakers.Beauty and the Bum yesterday put up images from an 8-page spread called The Top 50 Hottest (shirtless) Guys from OK Magazine. I don't agree with some of their choices, but for sheer volume it is impressive.
and my favourite new blog of the week is Are You There Blog? It's Me, Stephen. A little too heavy on the chicago theatre scene for my life, but it's smart, funny, and charming. Check it out.

Jest Station Identification

Not meaning to be another superficial American with a stupid obsession with show business or anything, but now that it's been announced - or let slip by Jack Black, whose best movie is still High Fidelity -- that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are expecting twins, what kind of stupid name do you expect them to saddle the newborns with?
Don't forget that their other kids are named Maddox, Zahara, and Shiloh.Myself, I'm hoping they'll be called Heckle and Jeckyl, but let's hear your suggestions.
Much has been made of Barack Obama's fiery minister Jeremiah Wright, but finally some of the airtime is going to the men of god in John McCain's life. This week he finally denounced the endorsements of two Bible-slinging bastards, not - I believe - because he disagreed with them, but because so many of the voters did. More attention is given to the brown-shirted John Hagee, but don't forget the hate speech of Rod Parsley.
Donnie at Famous Like Me has a YouTube clip about John McCain where he is shown in clips from his in own interviews and speeches -- in his own fucking words contradicting himself. This clip comes from Robert Greenwald, the creator of the well-intentioned but not (unfortunately) influential films like Outfoxed and Walmart: The High Price of Low Prices.
There's a note at the end of Greenwald's clip telling me to "pass this on to ten people." By mentioning it here, I might reach that many.
I've been heard to say that John McCain wouldn't be so bad as president, but the more I learn, the more he seems like a third-term for Bush the Lesser. Maybe this time they'll cut out the middle man and just let Satan be the running mate. But, on the other hand, Cheney on the ticket might make McCain look youthful, energetic, and human.

NEW DISCOVERIES
Recently Male and Beautiful showed me the Gay Body Blog, so I pass it on to you. That blog also let me know about the cool Le Gay Blog, which in addition to photos of hot men features the daily speedo, such as the pic to the right.
And on my own I found Suvacos de Machos, a Weblog devoted entirely to guys' armpits. Not my sort of thing, really, but I'm sure this guy is dedicated.
And while searching for photos for a new YouTube clip, I found the Weblog Plays Well with Others. It's fun to read, even if the title brings up unpleasant memories of elementary school.

Web Crawl on your Belly

The fine people at ReligiousFreaks.com have shown me this sweet 4-minute film by 23-year-old Lena Khan. She won the One Nation, Many Voices contest sponsored by the Muslim-American Website One Nation.
Don't be put off by the fact that I made a still of the only serious shot in the film. It really is sweet.
I've seen bits and pieces of the 20-year-old Bill O'Reilly tirade and some of the Stephen Colbert parody, but I hadn't seen the entire thing until I found this at The Brad Blog.
Hurray! I get to remove Get Bolton Buff!, last year's six-month chronicle of an Aussie's quest to add muscle to his body in time for summer. Last winter (my winter = his summer), it went silent for a while, but as of this month he's blogging again. Welcome back, mate.

The Spyware Who Loved Me
I'm taking some steps to protect my system, but I thought I should let some others know to be wary of downloading photos unless you have adequate protection. No matter how hot the guy is, having his pic is not worth the risk.

So far the online highlight of my week has been a clip I watched at Kenneth in the (212) on Monday. It's funny, and I recognized the redheaded guy from this distasteful holiday song. <--Uh oh! That video clip seems to have been taken away.
Thanks to Keith at Knee Deep in Mud, I now suffer from Shenis Envy. Imagine! A dildo, a catheter, and a beer funnel, all in one attractive package!
I hadn't noticed until it was pointed out by the Tighty-Whitie Dude last weekend, but Myles Hannaman made the cover of Men's Workout. Have a look.
Fit Lads makes a promise that I've heard before, but mostly from scurrilous late night infommercials.
Did you see Rudy Giuliani on Meet the Press, talking about homosexuality? If not, you still can, thanks to Towleroad.

Clothing Option, Al

But it's December now, and Austin is sunny and warm, so I'm not holding a grudge against Mother Nature.
In fact I never hold grudges. My memories too poor for that.

Donnie at Famous Like Me has a quick but rather brilliant example into the illogical behaviour of trashy people.
Through Just Beautiful Men this week, I was introduced to Matthew Chilelli, who is smart and funny, sensible and rather sweet. At least I think he is because his clips are. Here. Try one for yourself.
Also on Just Beautiful Men I found, at the end of last week, a photo tribute to Kevin Zegers, whose been the object of some attention from me since he hit 19 and outgrew those AirBud movies which I've never been able to sit through. He's a respectable talent (if a sometime questionable judge of a script), and it's great to see him getting some good roles in good films.
I didn't recognize him at the time, but on 3 Dec Tripataka at Sini...Sini... had a photo of Marco Dapper that I hadn't already seen plastered around the blogosphere. Sometimes I think it ought to be a crime to look that good.
Unless, of course, I looked that good, in which case it should qualify one for a Congressional Medal of Something-or-other.

Bah, Humbuggery!

I'm not at all ready, but Christmas is getting as prevalent in the blogosphere as wishful thinking among balding men. Daniel at was I there...? has been at it for the past week. And Scott-o-rama has his annual collection of Christmas songs.
The EcheBlog is someplace new to me this week. Earlier in the week he echoed my appreciation for the adorable Justin Bertha from National Treasure. With my fondness for pretty boys, Justin was unusual pick for me to include here in my Hairbrush, but it's nice to know I'm not the only one who likes him. (By the way, deep in the EcheBlog, you'll find the Beef Haiku. Worth the reading.)
Thanks to SuperHeroUniverse, I got my first look at the new Indiana Jones. I'm already tired of waiting for this movie. And is it sad that I still get all weepy during the same seen of The Last Crusade?
Tommy, who calls me "a friend" and whom I call "clever little monkey" 'cause it makes him mad in the cutest way, has created his own videoclip tribute to Carmina Burana, which he loves way too much. But I admit that this is a clever thing, and I learned way more than I wanted to know about it.
Incidentally, it was Tommy who introduced me to Photoshop Phriday at SomethingAwful.com. This week they did a sort of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen thing and used turn-of-the-last-century to create A Better World. Mildly amusing, but they have yet to be more tastelessly funny than their Offensive Cereals.
