SLUICE GATES OF HEAVEN

THING FOR THURSDAY

A collection of photos of beautiful men
with water running down their bodies.

I've always thought photos like this were hot,
and recently I discovered that I had enough of them to put this together.

And again finding the music was a big part of the fun.

When I told a friend of mine what I was doing,
he said, "Isn't that more of a summertime thing?
Water and cold weather don't usually go together."
But I say a wet man is always worth looking at.
After all, no one said that it wasn't warm water.

MISFITS OF SCIENCE FICTION

THING FOR THURSDAY

So this new show ALPHAS is getting all the publicity. Of course, David Strathairn is always brilliant, and Warren Christie looks so hot with his new haircut.

hot actor Warren Christie hot actor Warren Christie with his new haircut for Alphas

But if want a show about people with superhuman powers, check out MISFITS on Hulu. It's a lot like the slags from the original SKINS were all showered in toxic waste and got superpowers that they're completely clueless about using.

There's no substitute for Mitch Hewer unfortunately (but, really, there is no substitute for Mitch Hewer), but the hotest misfit so far is definitely Nathan, played by Robert Sheehan. Hot guy, but his character's personality needs a sound beating.

THE TEACHING RACKET

THING FOR THURSDAY

shirtless high school tennis team
For the most part, Mrs. McGillicuddy's job sucked.
The kids in her class were lazy and disrespectful.
Her pay was a joke. Her workload was overwhelming.

But things had improved lately since
she took the tennis team's shirts away.

BACKSTAGE PASSING SOME TIME

THING FOR THURSDAY

Addicting Games has a game called Bieber Kisser.

You're a blonde bimbo trying to
sneak backstage to kiss Justin Bieber.

And if this slut were smarter, she'd go
after one of the hunky body guards instead.

SANTO DOMINGO HIGH WAY TO HELL

PARKER LEWIS CAN'T LOSE is out on DVD now.
It'll be good to see Mr. Lewis and Mr. Randall again.
(Okay, mostly Mr. Randall...)

I just hope they don't include the 1994 made-for-TV
movie PARKER LEWIS CAN'T LOSE HIS VIRGINITY.
I never did find that believable..

IT'S NOT EASY BEING GREEN LANTERN

This is completely fake, but it's a really, really good fake.

I'm so jealous right now. This makes my trailer for a fake Justice League movie look like a lump of fudgy dog turd.

RAINBOW BRIDGE WORK

I love comic book movies so much that I even watched DAREDEVIL twice.

And I thought that I followed the news of such things fairly well, but the first I knew of the live-action film of THOR was yesterday when Beauty and the Bum told me that the part had gone to Australian Chris Hemsworth.

Reportedly, producers and director Kenneth Branagh has originally passed on Hemsworth as Thor, but after giving him a second chance, they were impressed by what the camera saw.

Hemsworth has been seen by millions now: he plays George Kirk, lamented father of James Tiberius Kirk in STAR TREK. The guy on the right is the very studly Thor figurine sculpted by Randy Bowen.

THOR is scheduled for release one year from today.

Now something really important:
Take a few minutes and read this father's account of teaching his daughter about sex. The USA... nay, the world would be a better place if more parents were like this guy.

FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS-IN-LAW

Okay, I feel insulted now.

This the nautical flag for the letter M. And using that military alphabet that calls all letters by a word beginning with that letter, this flag is known as "Mike."

You probably know that these flags are flown on boats and ships to spell out various messages, but it turns out that each flag has a meaning assigned to it when it is flown singly, not part of a word.

And Mike flying alone means "My vessel is stationary and not underway."

It's like they knew me!

There are other flags that have people's names attached. Charlie means simply "yes." Juliet means "Fire on board; keep your distance." Oscar means "man overboard," and Victor means "I require assistance."

SOMETHING IN MY EYES

Question #39:
Whatever happened to
that contest of yours?

Nothing.

I checked my email everyday, but I never got any
thing from someone trying to name all these guys.
So I'll just give you the names.

#1 is my Man of the Month, Simon Nessman. As Kenneth pointed out, the new masthead rather gives that away.

#2 is Maxwell Zagorski, and #4 is Chase Crawford. They are the only ones of the seven who have never been Man of the Month. The others are #3 Kevin Gould, #5 Chad White, #6 Chris Austad, and #7 is, of course, the lovely and talented Jensen Ackles.

Thanks for not playing (he said sarcastically).

SEMI COLONOSCOPY

Question #28:
How stupid
can some people be?

From The Top 100 April Fool's Day Hoaxes of All Time, this is #5:

San Serriffe
1977: The British newspaper The Guardian published a special seven-page supplement devoted to San Serriffe, a small republic said to consist of several semi-colon-shaped islands located in the Indian Ocean. A series of articles affectionately described the geography and culture of this obscure nation. Its two main islands were named Upper Caisse and Lower Caisse. Its capital was Bodoni, and its leader was General Pica.

The Guardian's phones rang all day as readers sought more information about the idyllic holiday spot. Only a few noticed that everything about the island was named after printer's terminology. The success of this hoax is widely credited with launching the enthusiasm for April Foolery that gripped the British tabloids in subsequent decades.

STARING CONTEST

Question #17:
Whose eyes are those in the little green pictures to the right?

You tell me...

And, as a bonus question, which one of the seven
has never been my Man of the Month?

COMMENTS
Kenneth Johnson aka Sebastien Penn said...
How many tries do we get? Cause i KNOW 2, 5, and 7. And I'm confident on 3 and 4.
The long lashes of number 6 reminds me of Zac Efron, but that's not an official guess...I'm just saying. (Although I think I know who it really is)
Number 1 is the hardest for me. There's a couple candidates I'm swaying between.
If this is really going to be a contest, then maybe
people should email their guesses to me. Posting them here
could just be a big help to anyone else playing.

ugh, not knowing number one is killing me!
I'm sorry if it's stressing you,
but I love that you're taking this so seriously.
It feels like this 'blog is getting real attention.

You should be able to get #6:
After all, I stole the photo from you.
As for #1, just take your best guess.

OFF THE BEATEN TRACK MEET

Very few people have seen this little clip (exactly two to be precise), so I'd really appreciate some comments. Does it have any class or is it just another insipid slideshow? Is it cool or a stupid waste of time?

CEILING FANTASTIC FOUR

I haven't done this in a while, so I decided to have some fun.

Gooey, marshmallowy, sticks-to-your-fingertips fun.

I call this one "The Bitch is Invisible."

And I think Myles kinda looks better like this.

Somebody please tell me if this is hot or creepy.

I can't make up my mind.
