Last names: Miller and Finn

Today, a couple of the sweeter songs from A Mighty Wind.

If you haven't seen A Mighty Wind, it is -- ostensibly, anyway -- a documentary about various groups of folk singers from the 60s reuniting for a concert years later. But none of these groups actually existed, their songs were written specifically for the film, and the characters are all played by the usual troupe who get together whenever Christopher Guest makes a film. You'll recognize a lot of people from Best of Show, Waiting for Guffman, and even as far back as Spinal Tap.

When You're Next to Me

The characters Mitch and Mickey feature in the movie's sweetest story. In the 60s, they were a couple beyond being a musical duet, but they've grown apart in the intervening years. Whenever this next song comes up in the film, someone always mentions how they always stopped and kissed at a certain part during the song and wonders what they will do during the concert.
