This song is an unusual pick for me. I hate award shows and never watch them. I haven't listened to Country Music since Ernest Tubb died (which, if you do the math, means never). And I don't usually fall for sentimental things, but this performance struck me as terribly genuine. Especially at the end.

A mother left her two-year-old daughter and moved across the country to California, guaranteeing that visitation would never be an issue. The daughter grew up without her mother to become a country singer who wrote and performed this song at the Country Music Awards last week. Give it a listen.
